I'm Riding to End AIDSTo All of You Who Have Been Kind Enough to Visit My Homepage - From June 1-7, 2008, I'm bicycling in my 2nd AIDS/LifeCycle. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to help make a difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS. When I did the AIDS/LifeCycle ride 2 years ago, I thought what a great way to raise a lot of money for a good cause and get in great shape at the same time. It was an amazing journey for me, physically and mentally. Along the ride, I kept hearing stories of people on the ride that were personally affected by HIV & AIDS. Mothers & fathers who lost their sons to AIDS and wanted to do something not only in their son's memory, but to end the disease that ended their son's life. Brothers & sisters who had lost their only sibling to AIDS. Friends who lost a dear friend. And then there were people like me who, at the time, were not personally affected by HIV and AIDS, but wanted do something to help. In the 2 years that have passed, HIV and AIDS have become more personal for me. Not only have I heard more and more stories of friends of friends becoming HIV positive, but I've had several close friends of my own become HIV positive. So this year, when I get on my bike, I am riding for them. I want to raise not only money but raise awareness and education on HIV and AIDS that I feel is still so very much needed today. Please help me support the San Francisco AIDS Foundation by giving what you can. I can't tell you how appreciative I am of anything you can give. Thank you!!! p.s. - if you live in San Francisco, don't miss my AIDS LifeCycle Fundraiser - SATURDAY, MARCH 15TH, 7PM, THE STUD BAR!
