I'm Riding to End AIDSFrom June 1-7, 2008, I'm bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle 7. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS. Last year ALC6 was my first ride ever. I spent my 28th Birthday riding to Ventura. I had the time of my life, but i didn't reach my goal of $2500. This year I'll be celebrating my 29th Birthday when I arrive in Los Angeles. I'm excited to do the ride again but please help me reach my goal! Help me support the San Francisco AIDS Foundation by giving what you can. We'll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past. Thank you for all your love and support. gS #2938 Check out the Cal Team #142 Go Bears!

Geoffrey's BlogMonday, June 2, 20088:12 PMDay 2 - King CityIt was a long hard day today, 107 miles... easy hills and a lot of crosswinds. I almost fell today because i was on gravel, i hit the brakes to stop at the port-o-pottys and I clipped off and was able to step down and my hand caught my fall, but i'm okay and not too many people saw. We traveled thought artichoke, strawberry, iceberg lettuce and broccoli fields. We crossed a bridge where a lot of riders decided to go skinny dipping and along the way we stopped by to see the cookie lady. The cookie lady made 2700 cookies for all the riders. At the end of our route we had rolling hills and a good tail wind so I didn't have to push so hard. I was going about 30 miles per hour. Crosswind=Bad, Tailwind =Good. After all that I'm happy to be laying in my tent. I need to rest, tomorrow is quad buster day!!! My butt hurts! To be continued in Paso Robles. gS Permalink | Share this posting : Care2 News | del.icio.us | digg | NewsVine | Reddit | YahooMyWeb Sunday, June 1, 20088:05 PMDay 1 - Santa CruzWell i made it to Santa Cruz in one piece! Lots of hills to climb and i got a little cramp in my left leg, I made it to a Rest Stop, rehydrated and its all good. You don't don't notice the true beauty of California until you ride a bike. The weather was perfect and I couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you for all your messages of support! I took it around San Bruno Mountain about 15 minutes away from my house. It was an easy hill climb nothing too advanced. I just wanted to get my seat in the saddle since I'm leaving in a couple weeks. Argh! I don't know if I should freak out or laugh about the situation I'm in. I know I'll be hurting on the ride. Whatever I'll be fine. I gotta think happy thoughts. Other than that, I need to hit my minimum of $2500 by June 1. C'mon and donate! gS Permalink | Share this posting : Care2 News | del.icio.us | digg | NewsVine | Reddit | YahooMyWeb Wednesday, April 30, 20089:15 AMKeep Em Coming!!!WooHoo! Since I got my bike tuned, I haven't gone on a training ride. Argh! This week my goal is to get on that bike and train. I've had a bike trainer for a year and never used it, its the coolest thing, I finally assembled it and I'll be training on that when I can't get outside. So here it is, the one and only Kestrel K40! Isn't it beautiful? New gears and chain, I also got a new trip monitor. It got me down to LA last year and it'll do it again! That's my Special K! I know, I know, it's a tri-bike but I love it so much. I also can't afford a regular comfortable road bike. Anyways, training rides here I come! gS Permalink | Share this posting : Care2 News | del.icio.us | digg | NewsVine | Reddit | YahooMyWeb Monday, March 17, 20089:22 PMTune Up TimeI finally dropped my bike off, over the weekend, at Ocean Cyclery and my ride will be ready on Wednesday.
