I'm Riding to End AIDS

WOW....hard to believe that I will be doing my 4th AIDS Life Cycle this year!!  For those of you that know me, I am sure that I have spoken more than once about my experiences on the ride.  It's funny, no matter how many times I will do the ride--each year will be a growing and learning experience for me.  It's hard to put into words how amazing of an organization this is and just how amazing the community is---it's really too incredible for words.  It's a traveling, week-long community of good-hearted people sacraficing their time and energy for one common cause.  Imagine that you have 3000 best friends and everyone is working together.....

Here's the part where I ask you to be a part of this world of wonderful people---we all are OBLIGATED to raise a minimum of $2500 dollars in order to ride.  ALL of the money goes towards funding the cause--NOT the ride itself.  It allows for people that are HIV positive to get medication, dental care, and have a place to go for advice and help.  The money also goes towards education of our youth to try and stop the disease.  Throughout my years in life, I have been around many HIV+ people, some of those who I care and LOVE more than anyone---this cause is for them, I RIDE FOR THEM!!!  I ride for the ones I have lost, the ones others have lost, the ones who are strong and fighting, the ones who cannot fight, the affect on the disease in the community and most of all I ride to feel as if I can make a difference in peoples lives.  Please help me to make that difference.  You can donate online and every little bit counts.....even if its only $10-----IT ALL ADDS UP!!!!

Thank you for your support, devotion and love!

From June 1-7, 2008, I'm bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle. It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS.

Help me support the HIV/AIDS-related services of the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center by giving what you can. We'll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past.

meeting the other coloradans.....

Wow!!  It's hard to believe that I only have 3 months to train and fundraise.  Colorado gets pretty chilly, and on those gloomy cold mornings, like this one, its hard to get motivated.  Last night, I met the group of people that i hope will help motivate me and vice-versa.....I met the rest of the colorado riders and roadies!!!  We all met last night for a dinner and to say hello--get to see peoples faces and get to know them a little better.

I have to say, after the meeting last night--I left feeling GREAT and ENERGIZED!!  What a great group of people!  Im really looking forward to getting to know all of them better and hear everyones story on why they chose to do this ride, and why it is important to them.  Whether we are affected by HIV personally or not, we all have our reasons for riding, fundraising, training, etc.....

On the note of fundraising, my friend Michael Melott---(aka--pumpkin butt!) had a fundraising party the other night.  He collected OVER $1000 in donations and it was amazing to see everyone come out and support him.  Now.....if only I knew how to make people support me that well!  Actually, today I got a donation from someone who is kinda a "friend of a friend"....someone I've met out a few times and never discussed why I ride or what it means to me.....so, THANK YOU!!!!  May good KARMA be with you!!!!
