Thanksgiving Weekend!

WOW. I met up with other members from Team Great Outdoors on Thanksgiving evening (late) at Malibu State Creek Park. This was to be a weekend of hiking and biking. The guys arrived during the day and did a hike and went to dinner for Turkey Day in Santa Monica. On Friday when we finally headed out to ride it was super windy. I mean it was a hurricane. Like 50 MPH winds and gusts! We still attempted to ride and got caught in a windstorm and had to turn around and walk our bikes through the canyon. It was the most dangerous biking experience I have had. Saturday morning helicopters and planes dropping water on the Malibu fire awakened us. Then the Rangers drove through and told us to evacuate. So we packed up fast and went to eat. What a weekend it turned out to be. BUT, we were safe and thankful! Happy Thanksgiving!

Team Great Outdoors particiapted in the Solvang Prelude, 50 miles! For two riders it was their first time completing 50 miles and they did a great job. It started a bit chilly at 8:30 AM but the sun warmed up very fast and it could not have been a more beautiful day. Back at the start point a cold beer was waiting for us. We celebrated by having dinner at Flat Bread Pizza in Los Alamos.. YUMMY! Thanks for riding guys. I had a great time and you all did a fantastic job!
