One pedal at a time we make a difference...
Are you ready for one of the best weeks of the year?! Seven days of spandex, butt butter, and shouts of “ON YOUR LEFT!” await us as we get ready for AIDS/LifeCycle 2014! Welcome back to all veteran riders and thank you very much for continuing to participate in this amazing event. For the first time rider, I welcome you and am very excited you are riding this year. You are embarking on an amazing adventure, one in which I guarantee you will never forget. Most importantly I want to thank every single participant, veteran and newbie, for making this commitment. Each one of you is making a huge difference in the lives of so many people.
As your Cyclist Representative, I am here to support you in any way possible. Remember you can ask me anything, whether it be about fundraising and how to achieve your goals, questions about how to train or what to bring for the event, and even support (when you realize that it is May and the ride is a month away).
June will come very quickly, but no worries because we are in this together. Ride hard, start early, tell everyone what you’re doing (riding 545 miles on a bicycle) and why you are doing it, but most importantly get excited and have fun. This will be a week to remember.
Yet again, thank you so much for riding this year and I am looking forward to seeing each and every one of you. Stay in touch and I will talk to you soon.

Finally, I'll be letting you know where you can get special discounts on training gear, fitness coaching and more!
I hope you will find the postings here useful and timely. All of the links will be saved here for your future reference. As always, if you don't find the information you need here, or if you'd like further clarification on a topic, please feel free to contact me!

Jon is a first year rider, a member of Team South Bay Blaze, and an overall great guy. Read on to meet Jon!
My first ride was AIDS/LifeCycle 11 - and I rode every mile! In all honesty, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. Yes, I rode training rides before, but never anything beyond 40 miles. I did teach indoor cycle classes, but those classes do not have headwinds or speeding cars around you. Going into the event I only knew a few riders, I was a newbie and I hated spandex. In the end, that week in June became one of the best weeks of my life.
I will never forget those special moments I had on that ride- burgers with the kids at Bradley, meeting some amazing friends, the candlelight vigil in Ventura, surviving day two and quadbuster, and riding into Los Angeles. Through all the laughs, the tears, the sweat, and Disney songs came this sense of accomplishment. I felt empowered, not only because I rode my bike 545 miles, but because I was doing it for such an amazing cause. I felt passion coming from a community which I am now so proud to be a part of. Most importantly the ride gave me a feeling of purpose, a purpose greater than myself, one in which stays with me to this day. Read More
