Welcome to the Saturday East Bay training series! This series is designed as slow ramp-up starter series for new riders but welcomes riders at all skill levels, including those who haven’t ridden a bike in years and those who may be recovering from injuries.

This week the Wildcats will focus on endurance with long steady climbs, with many BART bail out options for those not wanting to ride the full route. We head up the Bears and out to Hercules. We will then clmb through Crockett and wind our way along the familiar Carquinez Scenic bike path and down to Martinez. From there the group will continue towards Pleasant Hill and climb along Taylor Blvd. The first bail out option will be Lafayette BART around mile 42 before we head out to Danville and Lunch at Lunardi’s. From lunch we will make a loop out along Diablo, Blackhawk and Camino Tassajara. We will continue back up Danville Blvd with the option of taking BART from Walnut Creek at around mile 68. The route continues to Tice Valley for our final rest stop before making our way through Moraga on our way back to Orinda, with one last bail out option around mile 73 with Lafayette BART.

The route can be found at: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/42576132/

All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win!

Reach out with any of your questions or concerns. You really can do this.
