Houston-Area ALC Training Series
Come to Columbus, TX for a day of climbing the rolling hills between Columbus and Fayetteville! First loop of 44 miles has 1921 ft of climbing. The second loop of 17 miles has 430 ft of climbing. Roads are mostly rural roads with little traffic. The exception is FM 109, which has moderate traffic. Ride start has plumbed rest rooms but no other facilities. On the first route, the rest stop in Fayetteville features a general store and a couple of restaurants. Ice cream and peach cobbler are available! This is the only rest stop on this route, so be prepared with plenty of bike food and 2 water bottles so you are well supplied for the distance. The second loop has no rest stops. Both loops start and end at Beason’s Crossing Park.
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations as well as COVID regulations!
