The Houston-Area ALC Training Series provides friendly, no-drop training rides to help you prepare for AIDS/LifeCycle.
This ride consists of 2 loops, both of which start and end at Royal High School in Brookshire. There are no amenities at ride start but there are several service stations with convenience stores in the center of Brookshire on the way to ride start.
One loop is 28 miles, with a rest stop midway in Monaville. There is an optional second rest stop on the way back.
The second loop is 18 miles. It will take us through the Pecan Hill neighborhood north of Fulshear.
Most of the roads have wide shoulders and, as such, have moderate traffic. We’ll also be on some rural roads with minimal traffic. There is a rough patch on the first route similar to what you will find on Day 2 of AIDS/LifeCycle. Second route has a stretch with four poorly marked speed bumps. Ride Leaders will be sure to point them out! The area can be windy, and if it is, you’ll have to deal with all types: head wind, tail wind, and cross-wind!
