The Marin Marauders is an AIDS Lifecycle training group based in Marin County, offering training rides to prepare cyclists for the AIDS Lifecycle 2019. If you live in Marin, this group is perfect for you. If you live in San Francisco, avoid the fog and crowds of the Golden Gate Bridge, and join the group that starts in beautiful and sunny (mostly!) Marin. We meet at the park opposite Marin General Hospital on Bon Air Road in Greenbrae, and ride on Sunday. The series (from January to May) will start off slow and easy – and each week we add on a few miles and learn a few new techniques. All AIDS/LifeCycle official training rides are an inclusive and safe space welcoming ANY and ALL, regardless of skill level or cycling pace.
This ride in the series takes us from Hal Brown Park to Fairfax, over Whites Hill into the San Geronimo Valley. We will take a right off Sir Francis Drake and head up our second hill of the day, and after a beautiful descent will rest and regroup at picturesque Rancho Nicasio. We’ll back track just a half mile and take a left onto Lucas Valley road, gently making our way up to Big Rock. After a photo or two, we will enjoy the descent. Weaving our way to San Rafael via Marinwood and the bike path, we will return to Hal Brown Park through Larkspur Landing Circle and Marin County Bicycle Route 20. This week’s route is a few miles shorter than last week, but there is an optional 10 mile China Camp addition you can add on.
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win!
