The Marin Marauders is an AIDS Lifecycle training group based in Marin County, offering training rides to prepare cyclists for the AIDS Lifecycle 2019. If you live in Marin, this group is perfect for you. If you live in San Francisco, avoid the fog and crowds of the Golden Gate Bridge, and join the group that starts in beautiful and sunny (mostly!) Marin. We meet at the park opposite Marin General Hospital on Bon Air Road in Greenbrae, and ride on Sunday. The series (from January to May) will start off slow and easy – and each week we add on a few miles and learn a few new techniques. All AIDS/LifeCycle official training rides are an inclusive and safe space welcoming ANY and ALL, regardless of skill level or cycling pace.

For our seventeenth ride, we leave Hal Brown and head north through San Rafael to Marinwood, where we hang a left at Lucas Valley Road to take in ‘Big Rock’ for the last time this season. A ride past the Nicasio Reservoir and a climb to the Cheese Factory take us to our Hicks Valley Road left-hand turn. We divert just after experiencing the joy of Wilson’s Hill (you’re welcome!), and travel through the spectacular and peaceful Chileno Valley, before heading into the historic town of Tomales. Our rest stop will be the amazing Tomales Bakery (people travel for miles to come here – not all of them by bike!). TRL’s will be on hand to sort out who gets that last slice of pie (they do, of course!), after which we will head off down arguably the most beautiful stretch of road of the entire season, adjacent to Tomales Bay. A stop at Point Reyes , and we’ll head back to Hal Brown park via Samuel P Taylor, Lagunitas Market, and Fairfax.

All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win!

Reach out with any of your questions or concerns. You really can do this.
