Ride-Out: 9:00 AM
Heavy Rain Cancels
The Marin Marauders is a warm and welcoming AIDS Lifecycle training group based in Marin County. Our rides are geared towards getting cyclists ready for the AIDS Lifecycle. If you live in Marin, this group is perfect for you. If you live in San Francisco, avoid the fog and crowds of the Golden Gate Bridge, and join the group that starts in beautiful and sunny (mostly!) Marin.
This ride in the series takes us from Hal Brown Park via the Larkspur Bike Path to Horse Hill to reach Sausalito. We tackle the Sausalito Lateral and continue climbing Conzelman Road to the Headlands with its iconic Golden Gate Bridge view. Bring your selfie stick folks – this is where you are going to get that epic fundraising photo. Once we are assembled, we will carefully descend the headlands, making our way to the stunning Rodeo Beach. More picture opportunities await! From there we will back track through the famous “5 minute tunnel” and make our way into Sausalito for a well earned rest stop (I can smell the baking now). Back along the Marin Bike Path, and over Camino Alto, we’ll make our way back to our starting point.
We meet at the park opposite Marin General Hospital on Bon Air Road in Greenbrae, and ride on Sunday. The series (from January to May) will start off slow and easy – and each week add on a few miles, and few hills, and you will learn a few new techniques.
Our AIDS/LifeCycle official training rides are an inclusive and safe space welcoming ANY and ALL, regardless of skill level or cycling pace.
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride and meet some cool people. That’s a win!
If you are interested in attending, please be sure to RSVP. Have questions? Contact Ken Cook at marinmarauders@gmail.com
REQUIRED ITEMS: bike, helmet, water bottle(s), tire changing tools
When coming to our events, we have been politely asked to park further down Bon Air or on S. Elisio thus making access to the park greater for the general public. Thank you in advance for parking not directly in front of the park.
