Surprise! Bet you didn’t know that there could be a second ride out of the little town of Orchard, TX! First loop of 27 miles takes us north over the Brazos River, through the woods west of Weston Lakes, and into Fulshear, where we have a rest stop. We’ll pass by the polo fields and a pecan orchard on our way back to Orchard. Second loop of 27 miles takes us through the flat farmland between Orchard and Wallis, with a rest stop in Wallis. Want to ride more than 27 miles but less than 54 miles? There are three bail-out points on the second loop that cut its mileage down to 25 miles, 21 miles, or 12 miles, depending on when you bail out. Bail-out options will be reviewed at ride start. Roads are a mix of Texas highways with shoulders and rural roads. Traffic is moderate on the first loop and light on the second loop. There are a few minor hills on the first loop, including the bridge over the Brazos River. Second loop is as flat as flat can be, but be prepared for lots of wind. Ride will be rescheduled in event of rain.
