Directions: 405 south to Rosecrans. Right on Rosecrans. Left at Market Place (Bristol Farms Center)
**parking available on the street behind Helen’s Cycles. Do Not Park in the shopping center parking lot.
RIDE DESCRIPTION: We are starting from Helen’s Cycles in Manhattan Beach. We’ll ride through the South Bay Beach area as we make our way to Palos Verdes. You’ll have one good short climb up “Playa” before Malaga Cove.
We’ll continue around Palos Verdes along the scenic bluffs (nice rolling hills) before we get to Hawthorne where we will have our first pit stop and our short route turn around point at Starbucks (the one with the beautiful view).
The shorter route will continue back to Helen’s Cycles from Starbucks.
The longer option will climb up Hawthorne (this is a steep 3-mile climb) making your way across Palos Verdes down Granvia Altamira back to Malaga Cove continuing on PV Dr North and then back to Helen’s Cycles – this route is for advanced riders.
Be prepared for your rides. Inflate your tires, have 2 water bottles and the items needed to change a flat tire.
