SoCal: PosPeds: World AIDS Day Ride to Wall Las Memorias AIDS Monument

December 1st is World AIDS Day, and Positive Pedalers are hosting a special training ride to commemorate this day with a visit to the Wall Las Memorias AIDS Monument in Lincoln Park, the first publicly funded AIDS monument in the US. After a lengthy renovation project, the expanded monument will be unveiled and re-dedicated in a special ceremony that evening, and we will get to be part of the celebration in the morning.
We will meet at Lower Crystal Springs Picnic Area in Griffith Park for a short, simple ride along Riverside and into Lincoln Park to Wall Las Memorias AIDS Monument. We will gather there for a short vigil and moment of silence to remember all those we have lost, why we ride. We hope to have the opportunity to meet some of the Wall Las Memorias team and explore the Monument, before returning to Griffith Park.

REQUIRED ITEMS: bike, helmet, water bottle(s) & snacks, tire changing tools, pump/Co2 cartridge, and a mask. If you don’t have any of the items listed, please contact us. We’ll help you figure out what you need and where to get it!
COVID-19 Policy: Vaccination is required to participate. All participants must have received one Johnson & Johnson dose or the second Pfizer/Moderna dose at least two weeks before the Training Ride. Masks are required when 6’ of social distancing cannot be maintained. This includes rest stops, indoors and in vehicles with more than one person.
