Weekends -- Our recruitment efforts include getting out into the communities and letting people know about AIDS/LifeCycle. This is an extremely cost-effective marketing tool which lowers our cost of fundraising. Join an Outreach Team in your area. We are looking for small groups. You will elect a Team Captain and as a group you will locate areas for outreaches. These might be gyms, bike shops, popular bike routes or businesses. We will send you a kit to use at your outreaches. Your goal is to give out information on our Event as well as gather people's contact information so that we can send them more info on the Event. Ultimately you will try to register new people for our Event. We have an incentive program to make this an enticing way to help us gather more registrations. If you are interested in forming a group let us know. As an Outreach Team we will give you the tools and training to conduct outreaches, and if you like, we will train you to become a community information speaker as well as a valued Fundraising Speaker for Cyclist fundraising House Parties. This is a fun way to make new friends and at the same time help us in creating more registrations. Entire SF BAY AREA & Sacramento to Monterey.

Various times of days, evening, and weekends. Our recruitment efforts include getting out into our local communities and letting people know about AIDS/LifeCycle. This is an extremely cost-effective marketing tool, which lowers our cost of fundraising. As a member of an outreach team, you will set up booths at bike shops, bike routes, parks, stores, etc., with AIDS/LifeCycle materials and collect contact info from people interested in the event. You get to speak with people about why you're involved with AIDS/LifeCycle and help them decide to support the event. A great way to be involved anywhere in SoCal, as teams are divided according to geography. This team will work closely with the Speakers' Bureau.

Evenings, Weekends. Our Speakers Bureau volunteers go into local communities to talk about AIDS/LifeCycle. Speakers make brief presentations to small and large groups of potential Cyclists and Roadies aided by a stirring video about AIDSLifeCycle. You will have the opportunity to speak to potential sponsors, companies, home group meetings, cycling teams, and schools, among others. If you are comfortable talking in front of groups and have a passion about AIDS/LifeCycle and/or HIV/AIDS, come join our Speakers Bureau! We have a comprehensive handbook and training program to teach you the ins and outs of effective public speaking.
Additionally, many of our Cyclists and Roadies will hold fundraising parties either at their home or in special event venues such as bars, restaurants or galleries, where they will request a speaker to attend and be available for questions from their party goers. So not only do you get to talk to lots of people about how great the event is, you get to attend a fun party! Once again, we will give you the training and tools to be an effective speaker. Since our participants come from everywhere to be involved with AIDS/LifeCycle, we want you no matter where you live! The Bureau will work closely with the Outreach Team.

Weekdays. There are plenty of opportunities to help out in the office with other AIDS/LifeCycle staff and volunteers. People interested in the event need to be mailed Information Packets, Cyclists and Roadies need to have their Registration Packets mailed right after they sign up. Help us keep up with the huge response to AIDS/LifeCycle! If you're quick and accurate on computer keyboards, you can help us keep track of information requests and important data about Cyclists, Roadies, Volunteers and others interested in AIDS/LifeCycle. We are looking for folks with at least one day (3-5 hours) per week availability for database upkeep.

Weeknights, some weekdays. This group acts as the Steering Committee for all of our special events prior to the ride in June, as well as fill in wherever needed on other committees. They meet as needed to oversee the production and acquisition of free stuff for our Kick-off Party, Cyclist/Roadie Expo and our big Day on the Ride. This is a great place to use or acquire your organizational and creative skills. This is also the group to join if you have connections with restaurants, print stores, florists, musicians, food vendors, balloon companies, sound systems, DJs and more. Work within a fun team to see your ideas come to life!

Weekends, some Weekdays. Training Ride Volunteers lead our participants on organized training rides throughout the year as well as help us map out and design new routes. The Leaders play an integral part in helping Cyclists prepare and increase their endurance so they can achieve maximum results during our event. Volunteers for these very important positions will need to have ridden in at least one multi-day cycling event in the past and attend a full day orientation/certification process.
We are looking for Training Ride Leaders at all levels. We offer rides for all levels and we need Training Ride Leaders who ride at all levels. Speed is not important. Patience, compassion, and selflessness are. While we have fast training rides, we have more folks who need to be training at a slower pace and who, in all likelihood, won't ever be super fast. We call these the "Steady Pace" riders, and they need people to guide and mentor them through the training rides.
Additionally, all Training Ride Leaders will be responsible for following all AIDS/LifeCycle protocol, including debriefing all cyclists after each ride and submitting proper paperwork on time. If you excel at being friendly, observant, and thorough, this is the group for you!

Wednesday nights 6:30-8:30. This weekly group gives you a chance to come together once a week to get things done for the office, as well as socialize with each other. The Crew will be able to phone bank together, which involves calling people who have expressed interest in AIDS/LifeCycle and speaking with them about the event. You get to answer questions and share your experiences. The Crew will also help with various projects as needed, and we will provide the food! Once a month, the Wednesday Night Crew will open its doors to ALL committees to come, help out a little, and discuss what is new in their group. This monthly jam session will enable everyone to share what their committee is up to and get help if needed, and learn about others.
