What are @ Home Heroes?
@Home Heroes are an integral part of the AIDS/LifeCycle community! Not sure you can sneak away from the house or office for a full week to join AIDS/LifeCycle 2024? Not a problem! Our @Home Heroes program is for folks like you: eager to have a role in furthering our mission to end AIDS, but unable to join for the Ride in June. You can even unite your friends or coworkers by starting a team of @Home Heroes to participate together!
June 2-8, thousands of AIDS/LifeCycle Participants will be covering 545 miles as they make their way from SF to LA. As an @Home Hero you can join them in solidarity by logging 545 minutes of movement and raising $545 over the course of the week of the Ride.
Once you sign up as an @Home Hero, you’ll receive access to your Participant Center, where you can share your commitment story, update your followers on your journey, and track your progress! Once you have signed up we will add you into our private @Home Heroes Facebook group where you can connect with other Heroes and cheer each other on.
How does it work?
Commit to the challenge. Set a movement goal of 545 minutes of activity over the week of June 2-8, 2024 and set your sights on raising $545 for the HIV/AIDS programs and services of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center.
Be sure to make your Participant Page personal by sharing the “WHY” with your supporters: why this community, why this cause?
With help from AIDS/LifeCycle Staff, you’ll have access to the tools (Hello, template emails!), strategies (Want to organize a raffle for your fundraising? We’re experts.), and information needed to fight stigma with your campaign. Yes – fighting stigma means fundraising, but it also means educating ourselves and our supporters (including, but not limited to: friends, neighbors, bandmates, penpals, distant cousins…) around the challenges that our unique communities face, and how our agencies play a part in ensuring these challenges are met.
