Welcome to the Saturday East Bay training series! This series is designed as slow ramp-up starter series for new riders but welcomes riders at all skill levels, including those who haven’t ridden a bike in years and those who may be recovering from injuries.
This week we head out towards Moraga, but turn left on Glorietta, less than 2 miles from BART. This takes us over the hill to our familiar Acalanes and Mt. Diablo Blvd., with a quick GRAB & GO at Starbucks in Lafayette if needed. Next we work our way over to Tice and eventually Lunardi’s in Danville. From Lunardi’s we head down San Ramon Valley Rd, Crow Canyon, and Bollinger Canyon. We have an out and back climb to Las Trampas. Riders are free to turn around at any point on the climb if need be. Once back down the mountain we return to Lunardi’s for our final rest stop of the day. The route back to Orinda takes us on El Nido to get back to St. Stephen’s trail on our way home to the BART parking lot.
The route can be found at: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/41553670/
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win!
