Encino: 65 Miles Hosted The Chain Gang

May 11 @ 7:30 am - 5:00 pm

Chain Gang Ride Santa Susana – Simi Loop

65 Miles, Long and steep hills

Meet: 7:30 AM

Ride-Out: 8:00 AM

Rain Cancels

Join Chain Gang and PosPeds for a scenic ride through the Valley, with plenty of climbs, descents and gentle grades to build our climbing legs as we get closer to the big ride. From the parking lot of the Balboa Tennis Center, we head North on the bike path and make our way up Woodley to Rinaldi, with our first pit stop at Starbucks in Porter Ranch. We climb up and over Santa Susana pass into Simi Valley, and after quick pit stop there we continue through Simi Valley towards our next climb up Erbes Road. After the climb, another Starbucks stop awaits, with a nice downhill reward before the road heads uphill again as we loop back along Hillcrest and the rolling hills of Agoura Road. We climb up Mureau Road back into Calabasas with a well deserved rest at bike/coffee shop Pedalers Fork, before the last stretch along the Orange Line bike path back to the start.

NOTE: we are meeting in the large parking lot along Balboa Blvd, not the much smaller lot along Burbank Blvd! Look for the ride leaders in bright orange vests”

The route is at:https://ridewithgps.com/routes/46513583?privacy_code=Inaxoyi3qYVHeTbImuMgIz4T7QgSdvhi

All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations as well as COVID regulations.!

Reach out with any of your questions or concerns. You really can do this.
