Join AwesomeAhead! (Sunnyvale) Season 10 every Sunday to incrementally increase your distance and climbing while learning the tips, tricks, and rules of the road that will make your ALC experience both safe and unforgettable!
AWESOME AHEAD Season 10 Ride #12 – Tucked away in a corner of the eastern foothills of San Jose – is the beautiful Alum Rock Park showcases the Penitencia Creek Waterfalls alongside our route. Home to deer and one of the protected watersheds of the Bay Area trout population – Alum Rock is one of those hideaways that many cyclists had no idea was there till an AIDS/Lifecycle training ride took them there. From there we swing through the rolling Diablo Hills southbound towards Silver Creek Climb. The climb is short but steep followed by 180 degree views of the south bay – and the thrilling descent down into Santa Teresa. We’ll loop home through familiar territory, with coffee stops galore.
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations as well as COVID regulations.!

REQUIRED ITEMS: bike, helmet, water bottle(s), tire changing tools, and a mask.
COVID-19 Policy: Vaccination is required to participate. All participants must have received one Johnson & Johnson dose or the second Pfizer/Moderna dose at least two weeks before the Training Ride. Masks are required when 6’ of social distancing cannot be maintained. This includes rest stops, indoors and in vehicles with more than one person.
