The route for the Tour de Palm Springs (TDPS) changes every year, but share some common segments. This is a TDPS Half Century route with a 25 mile extension option to Desert Hot Springs (DHS) for anyone wanting to put in miles before the real TDPS in February. We’ll meet at Townie at 7:30, ride out at 8 am. The route takes us around the north end of town, around Rancho Mirage HS, and east out Ramon where we’ll pit at Starbucks near Washington & Varner. We’ll loop around Palm Desert & pit at Tech Starbucks. Then, back into town. For those wanting 25 more miles, you’ll hang a right off Dinah Shore behind Walmart and head up the CV Link and Gene Autry to DHS before heading west to Worsley & then back into town. GPX/TCX routes are for FULL 74 miles, so don’t turn R off Dinah Shore @ San Luis Rey & just continue back into town. TDPS route has very little climbing (most climbing is on the Extension). At this stage of training, everyone doing ALC should be able to complete the TDPS portion of this ride (if you cannot, please increase your weekly time in the saddle).

GPS file available on Roadrunner Facebook page (must be member)

All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations as well as COVID regulations.!

Reach out with any of your questions or concerns. You really can do this.

If you are interested in attending, please RSVP so we have an idea of whose coming. Have questions? Contact Tim Wood at drakofiero@icloud.com
