The first 18.5 miles will take the coast route to Nékter Juice, Starbucks, Bruegger’s Bagels in Corona del Mar. Corona del Mar State Beach is a popular place for swimmers. The half-mile long sandy beach is framed by cliffs and a rock jetty that forms the east entrance to Newport Harbor. The beach is also popular with surfers and divers.
On the way to Laguna Beach you will encounter some hills while passing through Newport Beach. Lunch is at Husky Burger on Coast Hwy. On the way back, there is a possibility of some stiff head winds. You may optionally take a challenging climb up Newport Coast Drive & San Joaquin Hills Rd then down Jamboree Rd. for a 54 mile ride, or skip the climb for a 50 mile ride. There will be one final rest stop at Starbucks in Newport Beach. Look forward to a beautiful ride along the Pacific Coast. Meet at the former location of Joe’s Crab Shack in Long Beach. Look for the big free parking lot at 6550 Marina Dr, Long Beach.
